Port Charlotte Fishing Charters
Captain John believes Port Charlotte, FL offers some of the best charter fishing in the world. Some days we’re hooking tarpon just minutes from the marina, other days we’re offshore chasing snapper, grouper, cobia, amberjack, triggerfish and more.
John runs highly productive Port Charlotte fishing charters perfect for serious anglers looking to fish hard all day, as well as family friendly trips ideal for a relaxed day on the water.
With years of experience on the water, Captain John knows Port Charlotte inside and out. His fishing journey began in the quiet backcountry waters where Florida’s natural beauty first inspired him. About a decade ago, he expanded into offshore fishing in search of new adventure.
All Port Charlotte fishing charters will be fishing from his SeaVee 340Z which features a dedicated console constructed to maximize deck space, while providing plenty of room on the inside. The console’s ergonomic design accommodates 2 Garmin 8616xsv 16″ touch screen navigation modules side by side with plenty of room to spare for a VHF, head unit, and key switches. This charter fishing vessel also sports a fuel capacity of 364 gallons and she’s powered with Triple Mercury Verados, and a B265LH High Chirp Thru-Hull Transducer. This is the perfect boat for getting to the fishing grounds swiftly on your Port Charlotte offshore fishing charter.
Meet Captain John and book the Port Charlotte fishing trip that’s right for you.

about the captain
john jelovich
JOHN HAS been fishing the waters of Florida for over 40 years. HE Started in the backcountry, THEN started venturing offshore about 10 years back. Fishing is his passion. He went to school, got HIS Captain’s license, and decided to start this business so that HE could share HIS passion with others. There is nothing like the waters offshore.
offshore charter fAQ
Depending on the type of charter you choose, you could see different
types of fish.
For example, shorter charters will see:
Lane snapper, porgy, mangrove snapper, vermilion snapper,
red grouper, barracuda, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, cobia,
amberjack, gag grouper, yellowtail snapper, red snapper, and more.
Longer charters will see:
Large red grouper, mangrove snapper, lane snapper, vermilion, yellowtails,
triggerfish, various jack species, porgies, African pompano, large amberjack,
blackfin tuna, cobia, wahoo, red snapper, gag grouper, scamp grouper,
yellowtail snapper, and more.
It all depends on what kind of angler you are. For our more experienced anglers,
we suggest our 8 or 10-hour charters. These are full-day charters, so it’s best
if you are used to being on a boat, offshore, for extended periods of time.
If you’re new to offshore fishing, we suggest our 4 or 6-hour charters. These
shorter charters are a great way to get used to fishing offshore. If you love it,
you can always come back for a longer charter!
*Custom charters are available upon request. Please call 941-525-2906
